Welcome To The Madden 21 Singleback Wing Flex Mini eBook

Thank you for purchasing the Madden 21 Singleback Wing Flex Mini eBook for PlayStation 4, XBOX One, and PC.  It will be viewable directly on our website and our app. This Mini eBook is mostly based out of the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive playbook but there are also a few other plays that we recommend if you use custom playbooks.

Keep in mind this ebook is not supposed to act as an official strategy guide.  It is just a collection of tips from our team of professional madden gamers organized in a way that is easy to understand.

Plays Found in the Dallas Cowboys Playbook

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: Slot Fade Shot

Setup:

  1. Hot route the X/square receiver to a drag route
  2. Hot route the R1/RB tight end to a trail route or an in route

Reads:

  1. Your first read is always the B/circle receiver on his deep route
  2. If he is covered, look to the tight end on the stick and nod route
  3. Then either throw the drag, the trail, or hit the running back in the flat

Overview: This play destroys cover 3 zones and can also beat cover 1 and cover 2 as well.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: PA Double Post

Setup:

  1. Smart route the B/circle receiver
  2. Hot route the A/X tight end to a streak route
  3. Hot route the RB/R1 tight end to a drag route
  4. Hot route the X/square receiver to an in route
  5. Motion the B/circle receiver to the left (but he will go in motion to the right)

Reads:

  1. Your first read on this play is always the B/circle receiver on the quick slant out
  2. If he is covered, look to one of the underneath routes.

Overview: This play destroys man to man coverage as well as cover 2 defenses.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: PA FL Dive

Setup:

Reads:

  1. The first read on this play is the B/circle receiver as he breaks to the sideline
  2. If he is covered, look to the X/square receiver underneath on the in route

Overview: The B/circle receiver’s route is generally open against any coverage as long as you lead pass to the sideline. If your opponent user defends it, hit the in route.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: PA Y-Cross

Setup:

  1. Hot route the RB/R1 tight end to a trail route (or a smart routed in route)
  2. Motion the B/circle receiver to the left (but he will go in motion to the right).

Reads:

  1. Your primary read on this play is the B/circle receiver deep
  2. The A/X tight end will also get wide open against man to man coverage

Overview: This play will get multiple receivers open as long as you make your reads correctly.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: PA Y-Cross (Cover 4 Press Beater)

Setup:

  1. Hot route the RB/R1 tight end to a trail route (or a smart routed in route)
  2. Motion the B/circle receiver to the left (but he will go in motion to the right).

Reads:

  1. Against any cover 4 defense except cover 4 drop (with no press coverage) your B/circle receiver should get wide open deep

Overview: This play works against cover 4 quarters, cover 4 palms, or cover 4 drop with press coverage.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: Verticals X Cross

Setup:

  1. Hot route the X/square receiver to a smart routed out route
  2. Put the RB/R1 tight end on a drag route
  3. Motion the B/circle receiver to the left (but he will go in motion to the right).
  4. Block your running back

Reads:

  1. Your main read against cover 3 is the B/circle receiver deep
  2. If he is covered, look to an underneath WR.

Overview: This is just a play to mix in when you are on the left hash mark against a cover 3 defense.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: HB Dive

Overview: If you are going against an Inside Stuff ability on defense, make sure to double team that defender pre-snap.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: HB Stretch

Overview: Feel free to use the right stick to flip the run to the other side.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Plays Found in Other Playbooks

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: PA Y-Drag Wheel

Setup:

  1. Hot route the A/X tight end to a streak route
  2. Hot route the RB/R1 to a drag route

Reads:

  1. Your main read on this play is always the B/circle receiver deep
  2. If he is covered look to the deep post or the RB/R1 tight end on the drag

Overview: The B/circle receiver gets open against just about any coverage in the game unless your opponent user defends it.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: Slot Cross

Setup:

  1. Hot route the A/X tight end to a streak route
  2. Hot route your X/square receiver to an in route
  3. Hot route your B/circle receiver to a whip route and motion him to the right

Reads:

  1. Your first read is the high/low read between the tight end on the corner route and the B/circle receiver on the whip route
  2. Then look to the X/square receiver on the in route

Overview: This is another change of pace play to mix into your scheme.

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex

Play: 0 1 Trap

Setup: None required

Overview: This play absolutely dominates some of the most common defenses like Nickel 3-3-5. It is the best running play in the formation

Formation: Singleback Wing Slot

Play: Zone Alert Bubble

Setup: None required

Reads:

  1. If the defender over our B/circle receiver crashes down on the run, throw the bubble screen. If he stays home then hand the ball off to your running back.

Overview: This play is effective because the bubble screen and the handoff are to the same side which puts your opponent in a very difficult position to defend both the run and the screen.

Formation: Singleback Wing Slot

Play: Jet Sweep

Setup: None required

Overview: Just follow your blockers.

Formation: Singleback Wing Slot

Play: PA Y Screen

Setup: None required

Reads:

  1. Just throw the ball to the A/X tight end on the screen (see video for timing).

Overview: This play can really catch your opponent off guard if you mix it in once or twice per game.
