Playbook: New Orleans Saints
Formation: Singleback Y Off Trio
Play: PA Y Glance (Man Beater)
Setup:
- (Optional) Put your tight end on a curl route. (This hot route makes it work better against cover 1 but not as good against cover 2 man).
- (Optional) Block your running back to cancel the play action
Reads:
- Your main read on this play against Cover 0 or Cover 1 is the X/square receiver on the stop and go route. He should leave his guy in the dust
- Against Cover 2 Man defense, look to the RB/R1 receiver deep
Overview: Use this play for a free 1 play touchdown anytime your opponent is sitting in cover 1 or cover 0.
Playbook: New Orleans Saints
Formation: Singleback Wing Tight
Play: PA FL Stretch (Cover 1 and Cover 0 Beater)
Setup:
- None required
Reads:
- Just hit your X/square receiver deep for an easy touchdown
Overview: Some people like to sit in Cover 1 all game until you prove you can score on it. This play will get your opponent out of that defense real quick.
Playbook: New Orleans Saints
Formation: Singleback Wing Tight
Play: Mesh
Setup:
- Hot route your X/square receiver to a comeback route
- Motion him 2-3 steps in to the right and snap the ball (See the video for timing)
Reads:
- Against man to man defense, your X/square receiver should be wide open
Overview: This concept absolutely destroys man to man coverage in Madden 21. It will likely be patched eventually but it can be quite useful until then.
When will a defense ebook come out
Can you do something with a Washington Football playbook for once?
Love the playbook so far my only advice would be you guys should label the contents by what play beats which cover as well so we don’t have to go through the whole book to see which plays bear which coverage. Like link each play to the coverage it beats so we can also view it that way or in game if we forget the set up or formation it’s in.
That’s a great idea and something we are going to try with a special part of one of the ebooks coming out in the next few days!
