Online Team Play will not be in Madden NFL 16. Online Team play (sometimes referred to as OTP) was a cult favorite of previous Madden games. It wasn’t a mass hit but the people who played that game mode were huge fans of it.
OTP wasn’t in Madden NFL 15 causing many fans to ask for its inclusion in Madden 16. In online team play you and 2 friends could play on the same team against a different team of 3 players. Essentially it was a 3v3 head to head game.
Most of the time you would have 1 player at quarterback, 1 running back, and one wide receiver. Games were much different because you had 3 players who were user controlled at all times making it a completely different challenge.
I know many of our Madden School members played OTP in Madden 25 and will be disappointed to not see it in Madden 16.
It looks like EA Sports’ effort was put into a new game mode called Draft Champions instead.
I haven’t purchased Madden since 25 came out and I will not buy another until they bring back team play AND communities. Guess they screwed up by introducing it because it quickly became the only mode I would play. All the other modes get boring after the first week. Bring OTP back EA, or you’re going to continue to lose the Madden faithful (yes, the OTP people are the ones who have been buying it every single year for the last couple of decades now). How does EA not realize this is why their sales are down for Madden? Duh!
I was thinking about getting XB1 just to play madden 16 3v3 but I had to make sure as many new games lack features from previous generations.
Just bought it together with a friend in Germany because we love american football and wanted to get away from fifa… Weeeell no way we could play it together online?! Whaaaat?! We will return it right away haha no way to watch others play. Or something stupid like people did 20 years ago or so…? And also paying for the PSN Plus… Is even worser.
I think you should add to the franchise and make it so you and your friends can play on the same team with you own guys against computers like in the franchise instead not being able to play on the team like I’m qb my friend is a rb and my other friend is a wr
