Cover 2 Man defense is a play that just about everyone calls because it is so effective at shutting down most of the field. In today’s free video tip, SnA Exclusive is going over a simple way to beat that defense from the Gun Split Close formation.
The basic idea of this play is that we are creating a pick route that should get our receiver open.

Playbook: Baltimore Ravens
Formation: Gun Split Close
Play: Scat (Flipped)
Setup:
- Put your X/square receiver on a drag route
- Put your slot receiver (A/X) on an extended out route
- (Optional) Put your B/circle receiver on whatever route you want
Reads:
- You should always look to your X/square receiver on the drag route against man to man coverage
- If he is covered, look to your slot receiver (A/X) on the deep out route
Overview: This play creates a pick against man to man coverage and usually leaves your wide receiver running the drag route wide open.
