Madden 19 Man Defense Beater: Strong Y Off – PA Boot X Shot

Man to man defense will be more popular in Madden 19 than it has in the past (at least early on). So today we are going over a way to beat it deep.

Playbook: Detroit Lions

Formation: Strong Y Off

Play: PA Boot X Shot (Flipped)

Setup:

1. Smart route the X/square receiver
2. Put your tight end on an in route
3. Slide protect to the right
4. (Optional) Block your running back to cancel the play action

Reads:

1. Against cover 0 or cover 1  defense, look to your X/square receiver who should be wide open deep
2. Against zone defenses, look to the B/circle receiver
3. If he is covered, your tight end should be open

Overview: Mix this play in with the running plays from this formation and you’ll have yourself a nice little Madden 19 scheme.

Let’s break this play down in a little more detail.

This is how the final play art should look right before we snap the ball.

You can see pretty early on that our wide receiver has the cornerback beat.

We have huge separation against the corner and the safety in the deep middle is nowhere to be found.

We make the catch and walk into the endzone for an easy touchdown.
