Madden 19 Cover 4 Beater: Gun Y Trips Wk – PA Post Shot

Cover 4 defenses can cause a lot of trouble in Madden 19. It does a good job of making you take short passes all the way down the field. That is why it is extremely important to have a way to beat a deep when your opponent is sitting in it all game.

We go over a really easy way to beat it that has worked in previous Madden games and still works in Madden 19.

Playbook: New York Jets

Formation: Gun Y Trips HB WK

Play: PA Post Shot

Setup:

1. Put the B/circle receiver on an in route

Reads:

1. The first read on this play is the X/Square receiver deep
2. Then look for the RB/R1 receiver on the over route
3. Finally, find the B/O receiver on the in route

Overview: This is a very effective way to bomb a Cover 4 defense. The zones do not recognize the deep post leaving the defense vulnerable. You’ll want to have a fast receiver at the X/square position so that he can get behind the zones.

This is how the play should look right before we snap the ball.

Right away you can see that our receiver on the in route will come open for a short pass.

Then we have our receiver on the deep crossing route getting open a little later.

We instead decide to throw it deep to our receiver on the post route. We lead pass away from the safety. We make the catch for a 50+ yard gain.
