Gun Split Offset PA Falcons Shot

Cover 3 defense is the most common zone coverage in Madden 16.  You should have a few ways to beat it every time you see it.  Today’s free Madden 16 tip goes over how to get 20+ yards against cover 3.

You can check it out below.

Madden 16 Strategy: Gun Split Offset - PA Falcons Shot

Playbook: Atlanta Falcons

Formation: Gun Split Offset

Play: PA Falcons Shot

Setup:

  1. Hot route your X/square receiver to a streak
  2. Hot route your B/circle receiver to a drag
  3. Motion your A/X receiver to the left

Reads:

  1. Against any sort of zone coverage your A/X receiver is usually wide open.
  2. Against man to man defense or if your A/X receiver is covered, look underneath to the drag route

Overview: We have 7 guys blocking on this play so we should have a lot of time to throw the ball.  Your A/X receiver is your primary read on this play and will be open for 30+ yards against zone defenses.

Let’s take a look at the screenshots.

PA Falcons Shot #1

This is how the play should look right before we snap the ball.  Notice how we motioned the slot receiver over to the left.

PA Falcons Shot #2

Here it looks as if our slot receiver is covered so we will have to wait a little before we throw it.

PA Falcons Shot #3

Right when the cornerback starts to break down to cover our running back in the flat, that is when we throw the pass.

FYI this play is not listed in any formation that I seen on PS3 madden. Maybe its under another system but I cant imagine that they would create a play that has totally different plays based on the game system. If anyone finds it in ps3 madden respond and say where you find it cause its NOT in the atlanta playbook.

U need some real high accuracy QBs in this year’s version of the game. I see whole lot of plays like this one online. QBs throwing into small areas while waiting for zone coverages to give them a 2 second window. I am noticing that many plays come from two to three receiver sets, involving receivers to basically distract the coverage so a small window of opportunity.

Honestly the QB accuracy is horrible this year.
