Madden School Unlimited

Playbook: Arizona Cardinals

Formation: Gun Doubles

Play: Y Shallow Cross

Setup:

  1. Hot route your Y/triangle receiver to a streak route
  2. Motion your X/square receiver to the right
  3. Max Protect
  4. (Optional) Double team the outside most pass rusher on the right side

Reads:

  1. Your primary read on this play is the X/square receiver deep. If he isn’t open, scramble with the QB or throw the ball away.

Overview: Make sure to run this play from the right hash mark for maximum effectiveness. If your opponent knows this play is coming, he’ll be able to stop it so make sure to mix this play in with other plays from the Gun Doubles formation.

Let’s take a closer look at how this works.

This is how the final play art should look right before we snap the ball.

In cover 3 defenses, the cornerback responsible for the deep 3rd of the field on the right gets distrcated by our B/circle receiver on the out route

ur X/square receiver on the post has lots of space for us to make the throw. Notice how our quarterback rolled slightly to the right to make the throw angle a little easier.
