Formation: Near Y Left Slot

Play: 0 1 Trap

Setup: None required

Overview: This trap play can be deadly effective against some defenses. Try it out early in the game and see if it will work for you.

Playbook: West Coast

Formation: Near Y Left Slot

Play: Curl Flat

Setup:

  1. Block both running backs or put them on whatever hot routes you’d like
  2. Put the B/circle receiver on a slant route and motion him to the left. Snap it when he gets past the tight end

Reads:

  1. The tight end should get open against just about any coverage in the game on his break.
  2. If he is covered, the A/X receiver gets wide open deep against cover 3 defenses (lead pass to the sideline)

Overview: The B/circle receiver that we put on a slant route and motion to the left is a decoy to hopefully hold our opponent’s user defender in the middle of the field to allow our other 2 routes to get open.

Playbook: West Coast

Formation: Near Y Slot

Play: Texas

Setup:

  1. Hot route the tight end to a drag route
  2. Motion the A/X receiver to the left and snap it right when he gets past the tight end

Reads:

  1. Your first read on this play is the B/circle receiver on a quick pass against cover 2 (lead pass to the sideline)
  2. If he is covered, look to the running back on the Texas route.
  3. Then look to the A/X receiver on the corner route or the tight end on the drag route

Overview: This play destroys cover 2 defense, cover 2 man defense, and man to man blitzes. The Texas route that the running back runs needs to be user defended but we also have the route the A/X receiver is running which torches man to man defense.

Playbook: West Coast

Formation: Near Y Slot

Play: HB Inside

Setup: None required

Overview: You can motion your receivers around to make it look like different passing plays from this formation if you’d like.
