The Indianapolis Colts head into Madden 17 with an explosive offense but a pretty weak defense. You’ll have no problem putting points up on the board with them but stopping your opponents will be a whole different story.
We’ve got the full Colts breakdown for Madden 17 below.
Team: Indianapolis Colts
Offensive Strategy: Passing Attack. Andrew Luck is the best young quarterback in Madden. He has everything you’d look for. Speed, arm strength, and accuracy. If you are lucky, you would get a quarterback with 2 out of the 3 attributes. He has all 3. Throw in a run every once in a while to keep the defense honest but for the most part you should be taking advantage of your elite quarterback and speedy receivers.
Defensive Strategy: Force turnovers. When it comes down to it, the Colts don’t have enough talent on defense to stop the most high powered offenses in Madden 17, so they will have to force a couple turnovers each game. Take some risks and get the ball back into the hands of Andrew Luck.
Impact Players: QB Andrew Luck, WR T.Y. Hilton, WR Donte Moncrief, WR Phillip Dorsett, TE Dwayne Allen, LE Kendall Langford, MLB D’Qwell Jackson, ROLB Robert Mathis, CB Vontae Davis
Strengths: Speed and receiver and a quarterback who can get them the ball. The Colts have one of the best passing attacks in Madden 17 and they don’t have to just rely on 1 or 2 guys to carry the load. That will make it really hard to defend against.
Weaknesses: Running back and lack of young defensive playmakers. Frank Gore is no longer as effective in Madden as he was 5 years ago. It will be hard to establish a dominant rushing attack without a young superstar at the position. On the defensive side of the ball, outside of Vontae Davis, the Colts don’t have any real starts in their prime.
Overview: Great offense, below average defense. This should be a fun team for those who know how to use them correctly but they aren’t a team that you will see a lot of people choosing online.
