The Houston Texans will be a very popular team in Madden 17. They have talent everywhere you’d want it and with a few roster updates they could turn into one of the best teams in the game.
We have the full Houston Texans team breakdown for Madden 17 below.
Team: Houston Texans
Offensive Strategy: Balanced. The Texans have a strong armed quarterback, a dominant receiver, good complimentary young receivers and 2 good running backs. There is no need to get one dimensional with them.
Defensive Strategy: Conservative 3-4. J.J. Watt is the best defensive lineman in Madden 17 which means your opponents won’t run to his side of the field and he should get his fair share of sacks without you doing anything special. Vince Wilfork will jam up the middle of the field. Whitney Mercilus and Jadeveon Clowney are extremely fierce pass rushers. If you rush those 4 guys, you won’t need to send heavy blitzes to get pressure and you can focus more on coverage.
Impact Players: QB Brock Osweiler, HB Lamar Miller, WR DeAndre Hopkins, WR Jaelen Strong, WR Will Fuller, RE J.J. Watt, DT Vince Wilfork, LOLB Whitney Mercilus, MLB Brian Cushing, ROLB Jadeveon Clowney, CB Johnathan Joseph, CB Kareem Jackson, CB Kevin Johnson
Strengths: Pass rush and youth. This team is loaded with young talent everywhere you would want it but especially quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. The Texans have up and coming stars everywhere which make them a perfect team to choose in franchise mode.
Weaknesses: Offensive line. Outside of LT Duane Brown, the Texans have a mediocre offensive line. That shouldn’t hurt them too much though because offensive line has never been that important in Madden games.
Overview: The Texans are one of the sleeper teams that experienced gamers will choose in Madden 17. They won’t come in as a top team in terms of overall rating but the team that you get on the field will play at a much higher level than their overall rating.
