The Detroit Lions head into Madden NFL 17 with a depleted roster. They still have a few pieces that could make them a dangerous team but unless you are a true Lions fan, there isn’t much reason to use them.
We’ve got the full Madden 17 Detroit Lions team breakdown below.
Team: Detroit Lions
Offensive Strategy: Balanced. The Lions have a decent offense but it isn’t nearly the same this year without Calvin Johnson. Matthew Stafford can make any throw you need him to and there is still talent at wide receiver.
Defensive Strategy: Aggressive 4-3. The Lions need to bring pressure on defense if they want a chance to slow down the best offenses in Madden 17. They have a decent defensive line and linebackers but the secondary could use a lot of help.
Impact Players: QB Matthew Stafford, WR Golden Tate, WR Marvin Jones, WR Corey Fuller, TE Eric Ebron, RE Ezekial Ansah, DT Haloti Ngata, LOLB Tahir Whitehead, MLB Stephen Tulloch, ROLB Deandre Levy, CB Darius Slay, FS Glover Quin
Strengths: Linebackers. Tahir Whitehead, Stephen Tulloc, and Deandre Levy form a pretty solid linebacker corps. This should give the Lions a little versatility on defense.
Weaknesses: Secondary. Darius Slay and Grover Quin are pretty good but the rest of the secondary is pretty weak in Madden NFL 17.
Overview: The Lions are definitely a lower tier team in this year’s game. You can still use them if you are a dedicated fan but don’t expect to have a chance against the overpowered teams that the rest of the Madden community prefers to use.
