The Cleveland Browns are much improved in Madden 16. They have young talent in a lot of places but they aren’t a team that we would recommend using in competitive online play.

We have the full Madden 16 team breakdown for the Cleveland Browns below.

Team: Cleveland Browns

Offensive Strategy: Get the ball to your wide receivers.  Josh Gordon, Dwayne Bowe, and Andrew Hawkins are all very dangerous Madden receivers.  Spread the ball around between those guys so the defense can’t double team any of them.

Defensive Strategy: Rely on your secondary.  The Browns have one of the best secondaries in Madden 16.  You should be able to get a few interceptions each game from your cornerbacks and the safeties will force a fumble or 2 per game.

Impact Players: QB Johnny Manziel, WR Josh Gordon, WR Dwayne Bowe, WR Andrew Hawkins, LT Joe Thomas, C Alex Mack, LOLB Paul Kruger, MLB Karlos Dansby, ROLB Barkevious Mingo, CB Joe Haden, CB Tramon Williams, CB Justin Gilbert, FS Tashaun Gipson, SS Donte Whitner

Key Newcomers: WR Dwayne Bowe, CB Tramon Williams, TE Rob Housler, DT Danny Shelton, RG Cameron Erving, ROLB Nate Orchard, HB Duke Johnson

Strengths: Secondary.  As mentioned above, the Browns secondary is one of the best in the game.  They have cornerbacks who can lock up even the best receivers in Madden 16 as well as 2 big hitting safeties.

Weaknesses: Quarterback and running back.  Johnny Manziel is still relatively dangerous in Madden 16 because of his ability to run but he won’t be very consistent delivering passes to receivers.  Running back is another question mark for the Browns.  Duke Johnson could become better with roster updates but we will have to wait and see.

Overview: The Browns definitely improved from Madden 15 to Madden 16, however they still have a long way to go before they are a team that can compete with the best teams in the game.
