Playbook: Buffalo Bills
Formation: Gun Trips HB Wk
Play: Mtn Slot Cross (Cover 3 Beater)
Setup:
- Left hash mark preferred
- Block your running back
- Hot route the B/Circle receiver to a fade
Reads:
- Your primary read on this play is the X/square receiver deep against cover 3. Lead pass up
- Against cover 2 defenses, look to the A/X receiver deep over the middle
Overview: It helps to have your fastest receiver lined up at the X/square spot to get the most separation possible.
Let’s take a closer look at how this play works!
This is how the final play art should look pre-snap. Make sure you have your fastest player at the X/square position.
Right away we can tell that this cornerback is looking into the backfield and not getting nearly enough depth.
As the play progresses, we are able to beat the cornerback in the deep 1/3rd by a few steps.
We use the X/square button to “RAC Catch” and walk into the endzone for a 1 play touchdown.
