In today’s Madden School tip we are going over a nice play that beats man to man coverage really effecitvely in Madden 21.
Check out the full breakdown below!
Playbook: Indianapolis Colts
Formation: Gun Tight Slots
Play: Drive Trail
Setup:
- Put the A/X tight end on a streak route
Reads:
- The first read is the corner/flat combo on the left side of the field. If the flat plays low, throw the corner; if the zone gets depth, throw the flat. Vs man, the corner route is the viable route
- The second read is the backside drag to B/Circle
- The third read is RB/R1 on the angle route out of the backfield
Overview: Drive Trail allows us to flood the left side of the field, while also having multiple routes over the middle of the field to occupy the user.
The angle route to the HB has to be user covered as it beats man fairly easily as well as gets between the holes of any middle zones. The route takes a little bit longer to develop, which is why it is not our first read on this play.
This is in snugs not tight slots
It is called snugs in some playbooks and tight slots in others but it is the same formation.
How can I improve our user catching? Anybody?
