Madden 21 Gun Bunch Wide Mini Scheme

Playbook: San Francisco 49ers

Formation: Gun Bunch Wide

Play: Seams Divide

Setup:

  1. No Setup Required

Reads:

  1. Your primary read on this play is your RB/R1 receiver on the crossing route.
  2. Your second read is your B/circle receiver on the route.
  3. Your third read is your A/X tight end on the wheel route.
  4. Your fourth read on this play is your X/square receiver on the drag route.

Overview: This play is a great variation of Gun Bunch Verticals, and it is really effective against man and zone coverage. The crossing route that the RB/r1 receiver runs torches man coverage and also is a great option against zone. The other routes compliment it very well.

Play: Y Trail

Setup:

  1. Hot route your Y/triangle receiver to an out right

Reads:

  1. Your main read is your A/X tight end on the trail route.
  2. You can also throw it to your Y/triangle running back or B/circle receiver in the flat.

Overview: The trail route that your tight end runs on this play torches all coverages. Users also tend to leave the zone because he fakes going towards the sideline which opens up the middle of the field for easy completions.

Play: Spacing

Setup:

  1. Hot route your X/square receiver to a slant. You can also hot route him to a fade or a curl depending on the coverage (as shown in the video).

Reads:

  1. Your primary read on this play is your X/square receiver.
  2. Your second read is your B/circle receiver on the hitch route.
  3. Your third read is your RB/r1 receiver in the middle of the field.

Overview: This is the most underrated passing play in the game. It won’t give your big yardage every play but it is very effective. The hitch route tends to get open against almost every zone coverage and if you low ball pass it to him it will be an easy completion against man coverage.

Your X/square receiver is your primary receiver on this play because you can do multiple things with him to exploit your opponents coverage. If it is zone the slant will work, if they play over the top the slant or curl will work, and if they play underneath you can hit him deep on a fade route.
