You will want a few go to passing plays when you start playing Madden 20. In this article, we are going to go over a simple passing play that can get you huge yards whenever you face a cover 3 defense.
It also works great against cover 2 defense as well!
Check it out below.
Playbook: Arizona Cardinals
Formation: Gun Cluster HB Str
Play: Mesh Post
Setup:
- Hot route your X/square receiver to a streak
- Block your running back
Reads:
- Against cover 3, look to your X/square receiver deep. Bullet pass and lead pass to the sideline
- Against cover 2, look to your tight end along the sideline. There is some timing involved so practice making the throw before you take it into the game
- You have a high/low read over the middle of the field as well that is very hard to cover.
Overview: Make sure to run this play to the wide side of the field. That means if you are on the right hash marks, run it to attack the left side of the field and vice versa.
Let’s take a closer look at how this play works.
This is how the pre-snap play art should look. Remember, it is helpful to have a fast wide receiver in the X/square spot.
The outside cornerback in the cover 3 appears like he will run deep with our receiver but at the last second he is going to come up to cover our tight end.
That leave only the deep safety in the middle of the field. All we have to do is lead pass away from him and we’ll have an easy touchdown.
We make the catch and are able to jog into the endzone for 6 points
