Defenses like Cover 4 Quarters and Cover 4 Palms have continued to get more and more popular in Madden and that trend will likely continue in Madden 20.
Most people have go to plays to beat man to man, cover 2 and cover 3, but many don’t have any clue how to beat a more advanced coverage like cover 4 quarters or palms.
In this tip, Mazin is back and going over a play he uses to get his opponent out of the defense.
Playbook: Run Heavy
Formation: Gun Bunch TE
Play: PA All Cross
Setup:
- Hot route your B/circle receiver to a streak route
- (Optional) Block your running back
- (Optional) Put your tight end on any route you want
Reads:
- The main read on this play is the X/square receiver deep against any cover 4 quarters or cover 4 palms defense
Overview: You only want to call this play if your opponent is just sitting in one of those cover 4 defenses. The streak will hold the left safety, and the deep post route will break open deep over the middle behind the right side safety.

This is how the play art should look pre-snap. Feel free to hot route your tight end to a route instead of blocking him.
