One of the hardest things to find in Madden 18 is consistent pressure with good coverage behind it. In this free Madden School tip, we are going over a play that only rushes 4 guys but still brings heat right up the middle.
If you haven’t already checked out our first Madden 18 Defensive eBook, that is a great resource for getting started bringing pressure in this year’s game.
Let’s take a look at how this blitz works.
Playbook: Houston Texans (And many others)
Formation: 3-4 Odd
Play: Will Buck 3 Press
Setup:
- Base Align
- Pinch your defensive line
- Crash your defensive line to the left
- (Optional) Bluff blitz the DE on the right side of the screen
- (Optional) Adjust the coverage however you would like.
Overview: This is an extremely simple blitz to set up but it is still effective. It works best if you have a fast #2 MLB.
Let’s check out this blitz in more detail.
This is how the final setup should look. We changed the coverage a little behind the blitz but the important part is the angles that the 4 blitzing defenders take.
Our MLB on the left comes shooting through the gap between the LT and the LG with a clear line on the quarterback.
The play results in a sack and a loss of about 8 yards.

I like the 3-4 odd will buck 3 press. Just a question could it turned into a zone blitz from man coverage?
There is probably a way to do it. You just need to find a play from the same formation that has a similar blitzing angle from the MLB #2

Can y’all please post the fastest over RB becuz I like running the ball but yet 2 find my guy 2 run my offense.. Thanks & this app iz very helpful 2 me..
In regular head to head it is Corey Grant with 96 speed.
Interesting defense. I run something very similar out of my 3-4. I will say though against experienced players you will only catch them a few times with this. The underneath is constantly open. I quick pass nullifies it. Other than that nice job.
