Playbook: New England Patriots
Formation: Pats Wing Trips
Play: Gun Pats X Curl
Setup:
- Hot route your RB/R1 receiver to a drag route
- (Optional) Hot route your B/circle receiver to a slant route
- Motion your running back out to the left
Reads:
- Your first look is always your running back. There is so timing involved so practice it. Against any zone defense but a cover 2, your running back will be open
- If it is man to man defense, throw to your X/square receiver right when he makes his break toward the sideline (most of the time he will be open but not always so don’t just throw it without looking)
- You always have your RB/R1 receiver on the drag route that gets open just about every time
- You can also hit your tight end up the middle or your B/circle receiver on the slant route
Overview: This is such a simple play with simple reads but it is almost impossible to defend once you get it down.
Playbook: New England Patriots
Formation: Gun Pats Wing Trips
Play: TE Whip
Setup:
- Hot route your running back to a streak route and motion him to the left
Reads:
- Your primary read on this play is your B/circle receiver on the post route
- You can also look to the X/square receiver on the other post route
- Your tight end is usually also open
Overview: This is a great play to mix in once you opponent starts really focusing on stopping the Pats X Curl play.

Overview: This play is extremely effective especially if your opponent starts dropping his whole team into coverage because he can’t stop your passing game.
Playbook: New England Patriots

- (Optional) Hot route your B/circle receiver to whatever you want
- Motion you running back to the left
Reads:
- Against anything but a cover 2 zone defense, your running back will usually be open’
- If he is covered, look to your X/square receiver on the slant route
- Also one of the 2 in routes from the tight end and the slot receiver will usually get open
Overview: This is another play that will force the defense to get out of whatever coverage they are comfortable in.
Playbook: New England Patriots
Formation: Gun Pats Wing Trips
Play: Pats Y Out

- Hot route your running back to a streak route
Reads:

Overview: This play is best used every once in a while so your opponent can’t key in on stopping the other plays that look like this.
