Gun Tight Slots

Playbook: Seattle Seahawks

Formation: Gun Tight Slots

Play: PA Flood Shot

Setup:

  1. Motion your tight end to the left

Reads:

  1. Your main read on this play is the X/square receiver

Overview: This is usually an instant touchdown against any sort of cover 3 defense.  Don’t call it too often, only when you expect your opponent to be in a cover 3 zone defense and you really need to score.

Playbook: Seattle Seahawks

Formation: Gun Tight Slots

Play: PA Flood Shot (Version 2)

Setup:

  1. Motion your tight end to the left
  2. Hot route your Y/triangle receiver to a fade route
  3. Hot route your X/square receiver to a slant route
  4. Hot route your running back to a wheel route

Reads:

  1. Your first look is always your running back in the flat if he is open
  2. If you think your opponent is in a cover 3 defense, you can throw it deep to the Y/triangle receiver (Lead pass to the sideline)
  3. You also may be able to hit your B/circle receiver for a quick pass

Overview: This is an alternate way to beat cover 3 defenses.

Playbook: Seattle Seahawks

Formation: Gun Tight Slots

Play: PA Flood Shot (Version 3)

Setup:

  1. Motion your tight end to the left
  2. Hot route your Y/triangle receiver to a fade route
  3. Hot route your X/square receiver to a slant route
  4. Hot route your running back to a wheel route

Reads:

  1. First, look to your running back in the flat. If he is open, throw it to him
  2. If he is covered, your X/square receiver on the slant should get open
  3. Then your last read is one of your deep receivers.

Overview: This play can beat pretty much any coverage in the game.

Playbook: Seattle Seahawks

Formation: Gun Tight Slots

Play: Hawks Drive Trail

Setup:

  1. Hot route your tight end to a streak route and motion him to the left

Reads:

  1. First look to your Y/triangle receiver in the flat. If he is open, throw it to him but he won’t be open most of the time
  2. If he is covered, look to your B/circle receiver quickly on the drag
  3. You can also throw to your X/square receiver on the corner route

Overview: This is just another play in the scheme so your opponent doesn’t know what is coming.

Playbook: Seattle Seahawks

Formation: Gun Tight Slots

Play: HB Draw

Setup:

  1. Motion your tight end to the left

Overview: Once your opponent starts pass committing and dropping a bunch of guys into coverage, hit him with this play.  You need to run the ball every now and then in order to have an unpredictable offense.

Playbook: Seattle Seahawks

Formation: Gun Tight Slots

Play: Mesh

Setup:

  1. Motion your B/circle receiver to the left
  2. Put your Y/triangle receiver on a slant route
  3. (Optional) Block your running back or put him on a wheel route

Reads:

  1. Your first look is the Y/triangle receiver on the slant route
  2. A lot of time, your B/circle receiver will get open on the post
  3. You can also look to your tight end on the drag route

Overview: This is another play that has a lot of different options and it is almost impossible to cover everything.

Playbook: Seattle Seahawks

Formation: Gun Tight Slots

Play: WR Stick N Out

Setup:

  1. None required

Reads:

  1. Your first read is your B/circle receiver
  2. If he is covered, look to the left side of the field

Overview: This is a great 4th and short play.

Hey guys I just thought I’d add that the PA Flood shot can be added to every playbook… If you use regular playbooks it’s in Detroit Lions playbook and the Balanced playbook… As far as the other plays go I haven’t looked that much into it, but I pointed out this play because it is so good

Great scheme to start off with, I’d like to see a couple of more plays out of this book and more runs. If you can add that I’ll definitely recommend to friends and this scheme will be at that next level.

The PA Flood Shot play is not working to beat Cover 3 for me, that CB is now dropping all the way back to cover the deeper route now and it has been intercepted when I’ve thrown it. Did they patch it?
