Play: QB Blast

Setup:

1. Flip the run with the Right Stick

Reads:

1. Follow the blockers

Overview: This is by far the best run play in the game. The QB runs this year are incredibly hard to stop as the secondary does not react to the QB running with the ball. Doing the QB Blast in this formation is even better because we will have passes out of it as well.

Play: Y Lead Read Option

Setup:

1. None

Reads:

1. Read the end that the game tells you too and either keep it with the QB or give the ball to your running back

Overview: This run mixes in nicely with this formation because tight end on this Read Option pulls giving your QB a lead blocker when you keep it. Also when you hand the ball to your running back it basically acts like an inside zone which is a solid run.

Play: Stick

Setup:

1. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a post
2. Put the B/O receiver on a drag
3. Put the X/Square receiver on a streak
4. Block the running back

Reads:

1. The right read on this play is the A/X tight end on his option route
2. Then look for the B/O receiver on the drag route
3. Finally, find the RB/R1 receiver deep on the post

Overview: It is highly recommended that when using this formation, you have a slot receiver with the ability “Slot Apprentice” this is so we can make solid route combinations in this formation. This play makes use of that ability so your opponent can’t key in on the QB Blast.

Play: Four Verticals

Setup:

1. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a post route
2. Put the B/O receiver on a drag
3. Motion the RB/R1 receiver to the left side of the field

Reads:

1. The main target on this play is the A/X tight end deep to the left
2. Then look for the B/O receiver on the drag route
3. Next, find the RB/R1 receiver on the post to the right
4. Finally, check it down to the running back on the delay route

Overview: Again, this play makes use of the Slot Apprentice ability giving us a very effective route combo to both sides of the field. Without the ability the passes in this formation would not be as effective. The tight ends route on this play is angled to where he is open against virtually any type of zone coverage.

Play: PA FL Screen

Setup:

1. None

Reads:

1. Throw to the B/O receiver on the screen
2. If the X/Square receiver is wide open over the middle hit him on the slant

Overview: This play mixes in well with this formation because if the opponent starts to try to stack the box to account for the QB runs then we can hit them quick to the outside. Since this play is a designed screen, we do not have to worry about getting an illegal man downfield penalty.
