4-3 Over Plus

Playbook: Kansas City Chiefs

Formation: 4-3 Over Plus

Play:  Cover 2 Man

Setup:

  1. Press Coverage
  2. Pinch the defensive line
  3. Slant inside the defensive line
  4. QB Contain
  5. Put the defensive end on the right side of the screen in any zone or a spy
  6. User the safety and put him on a blitz in between the DE and DT as shown in the video

Overview: This defense is another way to get quick pressure out of a 3 man blitz. Also, this formation will allow us to play the run better when our opponent is using an under center formation.

Playbook: Kansas City Chiefs

Formation: 4-3 Over Plus

Play:  Cover 4 Quarters

Setup:

  1. Press Coverage
  2. Pinch the defensive line
  3. Slant inside the defensive line
  4. QB Contain
  5. Put the defensive end on the right side of the screen in any zone or a spy
  6. User the safety and put him on a blitz in between the DE and DT as shown in the video

Overview: This is another amazing defense to mix in against your opponent. This is a match style defense that will confuse your opponent and make it difficult to find an open receiver with the pressure coming at them.

Playbook: Kansas City Chiefs

Formation: 4-3 Over Plus

Play:  Tampa 2

Setup:

  1. Press Coverage
  2. Pinch the defensive line
  3. Slant inside the defensive line
  4. QB Contain
  5. Put the defensive end on the right side of the screen in any zone or a spy
  6. User the safety and put him on a blitz in between the DE and DT as shown in the video

Overview: As shown in the video using this defense gives us a 3 man blitz out of a Cover 2 look. However, you must keep in mind that when you user the safety that will leave nobody over top on the left, so it is highly recommended that you put the left side cornerback in a deep zone.

Suggestion: Sections for Defense: Example: Run Defense: Pass Defense; Blitzes; Combo….something like this would make for easier navigation. I’m not sure what these defenses are designed for.

Thank you for continually making great content!

Question: I’m getting beat via double moves and crossers. Is it required to press coverage for man-to-man defenses?
