Playbook: New York Jets

Formation: 3-4 Odd

Play: Will Buck 3 Press

Setup:

  1. Base Align
  2. Pinch your linebackers
  3. Blitz your MLB on the right
  4. QB Contain
  5. User the MLB on the right. Let him take a step in to blitz and then pull him off into coverage. Patrol the middle part of the field.

Overview: This is a 5 man blitz that gets pressure off the left edge as long as your opponent is not blocking extra people.

Playbook: New York Jets

Formation: 3-4 Odd

Play: Cover 2 Hard Flat

Setup:

  1. Base Align
  2. Pinch your linebackers and globally blitz them all
  3. QB Contain
  4. User the MLB on the opposite side of the running back. Let him take a step in to blitz and then pull him off into coverage. Patrol the shallow middle part of the field.

Overview: This is a zone version of the previous play. It jumps a lot of the short routes that your opponents will try to throw when they realize they are under heavy pressure.

Playbook: New York Jets

Formation: 3-4 Odd

Play: Cover 2 Sink

Setup:

  1. Base Align
  2. Pinch your linebackers and globally blitz them all
  3. QB Contain
  4. User the MLB on the opposite side of the running back. Let him take a step in to blitz and then pull him off into coverage. Patrol the shallow middle part of the field.

Overview: This is a great play for 3rd or 4th and long. You are just responsible for covering the middle of the field with your user defender.

Playbook: New York Jets

Formation: 3-4 Odd

Play: Cover 4 Drop Show 2

Setup:

  1. Base Align
  2. Pinch your linebackers
  3. (Optional) Shade coverage underneath or over the top.

Overview: This is just a simple coverage play that you will want to call once your opponent starts blocking a bunch of extra guys. It also does decent against the run.

Playbook: New York Jets

Formation: 3-4 Odd

Play: Cover 3 Buzz Buck

Setup:

  1. Base Align
  2. Pinch your linebackers
  3. Put one of your defensive linemen in a QB Spy
  4. User the blitzing linebacker.
  5. (Optional) Shade coverage underneath or over the top.

Overview: This is another good coverage play to mix in once your opponent starts expecting the blitz every play.

in need of help please im going up against offenses that are throwing the ball as soon as it snaps making the pinch buck o very ineffective i switch to some of the zones u suggested in this formaton but im still gettimg torched!!!!!

I don’t see much against the run. Sometimes I can’t stop outside zones running this at all and would like an in game adjustment! Thanks for all the help, I’m just getting back into madden again!

How do you blitz your d line ? Do you have to do each one manually or can I do all at once . Thanks

Do you recommend blitzing all LB’s in every coverage? I notice if I don’t my opponent has time to make a cup of coffee in the pocket lol
