Playbook: New England Patriots

Formation: 3-4 Odd

Play: Cover 4 – Run Defense

Setup:

1. Base Align
2. Pinch your defensive line
3. QB Contain
4. Do whatever you want with your MLB on the right side of the screen – I spy him most of the time

Overview: This is great run defense if someone is in a two TE or two HB set and you think they will run, don’t do this against shotgun.

Playbook: New England Patriots

Formation: 3-4 Odd

Play: Any Play  – Shotgun Run Defense

Setup:

1. Lineup over the LT (Make sure you are on the opposite side of the HB)
2. Shoot the gap between the LG and LT

Overview: This does a great job stopping shotgun runs such as base, inside zone and trap.

Playbook: New England Patriots

Formation: 3-4 Odd

Play: Cover 4 – Cross Man Bunch Defense

Setup:

1. Base Align
2. Spread your defensive line
3. Pinch your linebackers
4. Cross man both Safeties
5. Put both corners into deep half zones
6. Put your MLB on the right side of the screen into a deep blue zone

Overview: This is a way to cross man in Madden 18 to stop the more popular west coast bunch plays like Mesh Post and HB Dig Out.

Formation: 3-4 Odd

Play: Tampa 2 – Singleback Deuce Close D

Setup:

1. Press coverage
2. Pinch your defensive line
3. Man up your OLB on the right side of the screen on the TE
4. Put the outside linebacker on the left side of the screen into a QB Spy
5. QB Contain
6. Spotlight the WR that you think will be running the corner route in TE Angle.

Overview: This is my deuce close defense. If they start throwing up the middle, deep blue your MLB instead.

Play: Tampa 2 – Gun Tight Slots Defense

Setup:

1. Base Align
2. Press coverage
3. Man up the OLB on the left side of the screen on the X/Square receiver
4. Man up the MLB on the right side of the screen on A/X receiver
5. Put your OLB on the right side of the screen in a QB Spy

Overview: This is my tight slots defense, if they attack the middle deep blue your MLB instead.
