Singleback Wing Flex Close

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex Close

Play: HB Stretch

Setup:

  1. Motion the tight end or wide receiver as shown in video (Optional)

Reads:

  1. Follow the blockers

Overview: This formation is one of the most effective running formations in the game. The video will show you how you can get an offensive lineman at Tight end so you can get even better blocking when running the ball.

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex Close

Play: HB Dive

Setup:

  1. Motion the tight end or wide receiver as shown in video (Optional)

Reads:

Overview: This Dive is going to mix in this formation nicely with the HB Stretch. As soon as your opponent over commits to the outside you can take it right up the middle.

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex Close

Play: Four Verticals (vs Man Coverage/Man Blitzes)

Setup:

  1. Max Protect
  2. Motion the X/Square receiver out to the left

Reads:

  1. The main target is the X/Square receiver on the wheel route

Overview: Using this setup will allow you to destroy any type of man blitz your opponent might be sending. The wheel route will also beat a Cover 2 man as well.

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Play: Four Verticals (Cover 3 Bomb)

Setup:

  1. Put the B/O receiver on a streak
  2. Put the A/X tight end on a streak
  3. Block the running back
  4. Either block the RB/R1 tight end or put him on a drag

Reads:

  1. The main target is the B/O receiver deep behind the coverage
  2. If that is not there look for the RB/R1 tight end on the drag

Overview: The wheel route ran by the X/Square receiver will hold down the cornerback in the outside third zone leaving the B/O receiver wide open overtop the coverage. This is an easy one play touchdown against Cover 3.

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex Close

Play: Four Verticals (Right Hashmark)

Setup:

  1. Put the running back on a wheel route
  2. Put the B/O receiver on a drag
  3. Motion the RB/R1 tight end out to the right

Reads:

  1. The first read on this play is the running back on the wheel route
  2. If that is not there look for the B/O receiver on the drag route
  3. Then look for the A/X tight end on the inside pass lead up the seam of the field
  4. Next, look for the X/Square receiver on the wheel route
  5. Finally, find the RB/R1 tight end on his wheel route

Overview: This play can beat any type of coverage in the game. There are so many routes on the field attacking different areas that your opponent can’t be everywhere at once so when making the correct read this play can be deadly.

(See Above Video)

  5. Finally, find the RB/R1 tight end on his wheel route

Overview: This is the setup for when you are on the left hashmark or when the running back’s wheel route is going to the right side of the field. This play will destroy any coverage your opponent throws at you.

Play: Smash (Vs Cover 4 Quarters/Palms)

Setup:

  1. Put the X/Square receiver on a drag
  2. Put the RB/R1 tight end on a drag
  3. Block the running back

Reads:

  1. The main target is the B/O receiver on the corner route
  2. If that is not there look to either drag route
  3. Lastly, find the A/X tight end on the in route over the middle

Overview: This play will absolutely destroy Cover 4 Quarters and Cover 4 Palms defenses. These defenses man match so the corner route will be wide open every time unless they manually guard it.

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex Close

Play: Smash

  3. If those are not there look for the B/O receiver on the corner route
  4. Then find the RB/R1 tight end in the flat
  5. Finally, find the A/X tight end on the in route

Overview: This play is going to appear to the opponent as Four Verticals with the use of the motion. Except this play is going to be completely different and can beat both man and zone coverage when making the correct read.

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex Close

Play: Smash (Part Two)

Setup:

  2. Either keep the X/Square receiver on his hitch or put him on a slant route
  3. Motion the X/Square receiver to the left

  4. Finally, find the B/O receiver on the corner route

Overview: This is how we are going to adjust to our opponent’s adjustments. In online games the opponent will adjust on defense to slow our offense down. The video shows what opponents have done to me recently and how I counter them.

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex Close

Play: PA Cross Switch

Setup:

  4. Motion to the left the X/Square receiver

Reads:

  1. The first read on the play is the X/Square receiver on the flat route
  2. Then look for the running back on the wheel route
  3. If that is not there look for the RB/R1 tight end on the in route
  4. Finally, find the B/O receiver deep over the middle of the field

Overview: This play we are going to have a high low concept in the middle of the field with the RB/R1 tight end and the B/O receiver. Also, we have a quick pass to the X/Square receiver that makes it difficult for our opponent to cover.

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Formation: Singleback Wing Flex Close

Play: Drive Y Corner

Setup:

  1. Put the RB/R1 tight end on a streak
  2. Block the running back
  3. Motion the X/Square receiver out to the left

Reads:

  1. The main target on the play is the A/X tight end on the corner route
  2. If that is not there look for the X/Square receiver underneath on the drag
  3. Then find the B/O receiver on the in route over the middle

Overview: This play is effective against any zone coverage in the game. The deep corner route ran by the tight end is nearly impossible to guard without covering it manually. When your opponent does that it opens up the rest of the field.

Playbook: Oakland Raiders

Formation: Singleback Wing Slot

Play: Stretch Alert Bubble/ Dive Alert Bubble

Setup:

  1. Audible to these plays from Singleback Wing Flex Close

Reads:

  1. Against zone coverage you can hit the bubble screen for big yardage

Overview: Audibling to this formation from our Wing Flex Close scheme will create a headache for your opponent. Guarding these runs are completely different from how to guard the runs in Wing Flex Close. Also you have the bubble screen on these plays too adding another variable for your opponent.

Thank you for this good scheme. In general, for all of the e-books, it would be helpful to have a video on red zone offense. It is the most difficult area of the field to pass and interceptions tend to become 6 points the other way. Thanks.
