Counter plays out of shotgun formations are incredibly effective in Madden NFL 15 if you call them with a good running back and offensive line. Mix them in with a few passing plays from the same formation and it will be hard to stop.
The play we are going over below is an example of a very effective counter run in Madden 15.
Playbook: Carolina Panthers
Formation: Gun DBLS Flex Wing Wk
Play: Counter Y
Setup:
- Motion your wide receiver on the far left side of the screen to the right
- If the defender follows him all the way over to the other side, then leave the WR there. If the defender doesn’t follow him all the way over, motion your receiver back to the right
Madden School Pro Tip: You’ll want to call this play with a running back with a pretty high speed and acceleration rating.
