Playbook: West Coast
Formation: Near Pro
Play: Double Comeback
Setup:
- None required (Make sure you have an elite WR at the B/circle receiver)
Reads:
- Against man to man press coverage, just throw to your B/circle receiver right away
Overview: This play only works if your B/circle receiver has 90+ deep route running and 90+ release.
Playbook: West Coast
Formation: Gun Split Offset
Play: 689 Hook
Setup:
- Max Protect
- Put your X/square and Y/triangle receivers on any route you want
Reads:
- Right when you snap the ball, pump fake to the B/circle receiver (double tap B/circle)
- Then throw it deep to B/circle if your opponent is in a cover 3 or cover 4 defenses.
Overview: This play only works against non-pressed cover 3 or cover 4 defenses. If it is man coverage, cover 2, or press coverage, it will not work. This technique can be done from many other formations as well.
Playbook: West Coast
Formation: I Form Slot
Play: Sail Y Shake
Setup:
- Max Protect
- Put your tight end on a drag route
Reads:
- Against cover 3 defenses, your X/square receiver will often get wide open deep
- If he isn’t open, then you have a high/low read with your tight end on the drag route and the B/circle receiver on the corner route.
Overview: Only call this play if you suspect your opponent is in a cover 3 defense.
Has the Gun Split Offset – 689 hook been patched ? Just tried this today and the corners dont bite anymore.
