Madden NFL 16 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team Breakdown

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are no longer one of the worst teams in Madden.  They still have a long way to go before they can compete with some of the elite teams, but they have all of the tools to be an incredibly fun team to play with in Madden 16.

Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Offensive Strategy: Get the ball to your big, athletic receivers and tight ends.  Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson, and Austin Seferian-Jenkins are all tall, athletic, and have good catching ratings.  It shouldn’t be too hard to use the new aggressive catch feature with these guys.

Defensive Strategy: Use your linebackers to your advantage.  LaVonte David is one of the best user linebackers in the game, Bruce Carter has top end speed which is always important in Madden, and Danny Lansanah is very solid.  DT Gerald McCoy does a good job of stopping the run and he can get some pressure as well.

Impact Players: QB Jameis Winston, WR Mike Evans, WR Vincent Jackson, TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins LG Logan Mankins, DT Gerald McCoy, LOLB Danny Lansanah, MLB Bruce Carter, ROLB Lavonte David, CB Alterraun Verner

Key Newcomers: QB Jameis Winston, RT Donovan Smith

Strengths: Wide receivers and linebackers.  The Bucs have 2 of the best big receivers in Madden NFL 16 as well as game changing linebackers.  The Buccaneers finally have a quarterback in Jameis Winston that can get the ball to those wide receivers making their passing attack really dangerous.

Weaknesses: The running game and secondary.  Doug Martin is not the same running back in Madden 16 that he was in the last few Madden games.  Hopefully through roster updates during the year he progresses but until then, the running game should be considered a weakness.

Alterraun Verner is the only cornerback on the Buccaneers that can match up with some of the better wide receivers in Madden 16.  You will need to get pressure on the quarterback otherwise the secondary could get picked apart.

Overview: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are much improved from last year due mainly too drafting Jameis Winston.  They make the jump from a below average team to a mediocre team in Madden NFL 16.
