Today we have a 2 part tip going over the best way to block Cover 0 blitzes as well as an unbumpable route should be a 1 play touchdown against man press coverage.
Check them out below!
When you see Mid Blitz or a similar man to man blitz play, the default reaction of most Madden players is to block their running back.
It is much better to instead hot route your running back to a block and release route so you can take his man to man defender out of the play (while still picking up the blitz).
Below is an example play, really more of a concept that combines the block and release blitz pickup with an unbumpable route that often gets a 1 play touchdown.
Playbook: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Formation: Gun Trips HB Wk
Play: Ohio Sail
Setup:
- Custom stem your X/square receiver on the dig route as far up as you can go
- Make sure you have a running back on a block and release route
Reads:
- If you see a Cover 0 or Cover 1 with press coverage, you can hit the X/square receiver deep for a 1 play touchdown
Overview: It helps to have a speedy player at that X/square spot.
This concept can be done from a ton of different playbooks and formations. You just need the route the X/square receiver is on and to hot route your running back to a block and release.
