Madden 23 Money Play To Beat Man Coverage

Man to man defense is still incredibly popular in the early stages of the Madden 23 season especially in Ultimate Team.

In today’s free Madden 23 tip, we are going over a play that has multiple routes that burn every man to man defense deep and provides excellent protection against the blitz.

Playbook: Cleveland Browns

Formation: Gun Split Slot

Play: Slot Flood

Setup:

1. (Optional) Max protect or hot route your running backs to your preferred routes

Reads:

1. Your first read is the A/X receiver on the corner route
2. If he is covered, look to the X/square receiver on the post route
3. Then look to either the B/circle receiver deep or the running backs underneath

Overview: This formation/play is great because it can easily pick up every popular blitz in Madden 23 just by using the max protect feature. Pair that with man beating routes and you can get your opponent out of man to man coverage very fast.

Let’s take a closer look at how this play should work.

This is one way to set up the final play art. You can also block one or both running backs if you are expecting heavy pressure.

We have 2 huge passing windows against this Cover 2 man defense. If our opponent was in Cover 1 or Cover 0 the passing windows would be even bigger.

We choose to throw to our receiver on the corner route for a nice gain.
