Over the last few days, we went over a few great blitzes from the 4-3 Over formation. If you missed those, you can check them out in our Madden 20 defensive tips section.
Today we are going over a way to get pressure from the 3-4 Solid formation.
Let’s get right into it.
Playbook: Pittsburgh Steelers
Formation: 3-4 Solid
Play: Cover 3 Sky
Setup:
- Base Align
- Slant inside the defensive line
- Blitz the outside linebacker on the left side of the screen
- QB Contain
- Hover the gap with the linebacker (see video for positioning)
Overview: This blitz is out of a Cover 3 sky blitzing only 5 people getting instant pressure at the QB. You can adjust your zones however you would like depending on the situation. Hovering the gap with the linebacker you are using is key to making this blitz successful.
Let’s take a closer look at how this play works.
This is how the defensive play art should look right before the offense snaps the ball.
Notice right away that the pressure comes in off the left side of the screen. Be aware that if your opponent blocks an extra guy, the free blitzer will get picked up.
We make the sack and the result is a huge loss for the offense.
Great Blitz. I created a 7 Man Blitz out of this(just in case the Opponent is blockig 6). Setup:
1.) Blitz all LB
2.) base align until the left MLB Lines up over the d-line( sometimes you have To move the User mlb. Haven‘t quite figured out when he lines up on top)
3.) go through the Setup in the Description by Madden-school
