As week 5 has come to a close and week 6 starts to unravel it’s time for another roster update provided from EA. For the most part this update is pretty normal, losing teams players dropping a point or two while big performers and winning teams had some boosts added to some of their key and new contributing players.
However, there is one giant change that could effect who you’re playing with this week. As Drew Brees stands alone at the top of the record books for career passing yards, he now has another great accomplishment. He joined the elusive 99 overall club this week as he was boosted 7 overall. This will only last for this update, but after an electric career Drew deserves to be considered the best quarterback in the “game” for at least one week.
Listed below are some of the big movers and key changes in this weeks roster update.
Other than Brees there are four players up 3 or more overall in this update. The first being Graham Gano, kicker of the Carolina Panthers. He gained 7 awareness and was bumped to an 84 overall.
Gano’s teammate Michael Palardy was also moved up 3 overall and now sits at an 81 after averaging 51 yards per punt and pinning two inside the 20 against the Giants.
Taylor Moton Carolina’s right tackle was bumped 3 as well and is now 75 overall. His awareness went up four and is now 80.
The final player that was effected positively three or more overall is Jordan Lucas, the Chiefs SS. His awareness is up 5 and is now 55 and his overall is up there to a 69.
There were no players that lost 3 or more overall but five players did lose 2 overall in this weeks update, they include:
(-2 This Week)
- OAK: Dominique Rodgers Cromartie (CB)
- OAK: Gareon Conley (CB)
- JAX: Blake Bortles (QB)
- GB: Mason Crosby (K)
- SD: Caleb Sturgis (K)
Four players made enough of an impact Sunday to get boosted two overall and they are listed below:
(+2 This Week)
- BUF: Taron Johnson (CB)
- NO: Tre’Quan Smith (WR)
- DAL: Leighton Vander Esch (ROLB)
- SD: Melvin Gordon lll (HB)
For the elite players this week the big changes were Brees obviously and also Von Miller dropping from a 99 to 98. As well as D. Hopkins and T. Kelce both gaining one overall and placing them both at 96. Aaron Rodgers for the third week in a row drops an overall and is now down to 96 as well.
What about Sam Darnold?
