Madden 19 Week 2 Roster Update Released

The week 2 roster update is finally here and has a similar theme to last week’s update. For the teams that struggled to perform, their player rankings have been affected and the surprising performers that continue to shine are reflected in this weeks update as well. Some of the big movers and players who were focused on in this weeks update are listed below.

David Johnson, the Arizona Cardinals running back dropped 3 overall down to a 90. Obviously he is still one of the best backs in the game today, but if the offensive line can’t create holes and the Cardinals continue struggling to score he could consistently drop in the weeks ahead.

Patrick Mahomes, the Kanas City Chiefs quarterback continues to shred defenses in his young career. With 10 touchdown passes and still not recording a single turnover he is on track for an MVP season. This weeks update has him up 3 overall, currently sitting at an 85 overall with plenty of weapons around him.

Another surprises performer so far this year is veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, after leading the Buccaneers to a 2-0 season and having close to perfect passing numbers he is now up another 4 overall pushing him to a 79. This weeks game against Pittsburgh could be a make or break week on whether he continues to climb and become the starter when Winston returns from suspension.

The Atlanta Falcons were helped on offense and hurt on defense as Calvin Ridley was bumped up 2 overall making him a 78. While on defense they lost playmaking linebacker Deion Jones due to injury, he is currently still unavailable to use for the Atlanta Falcons struggling with a foot injury on IR.

The Browns have 3 movers from week 2 after finally clinching a win in week 3 with the help of the first overall pick Baker Mayfield. Look for their team to get a solid boost in the next roster update. For this weeks, E.J. Gaines the Browns Cornerback dropped 3 overall and is now a 77. As well as RG Earl Watford dropping from 70 to a 69. However, not all is bad for Cleveland as WR Antonio Callaway is up 2 overall to a 73 as he again looked good in his week 3 performance on Thursday night.

Marcedes Lewis tight end for the Packers dropped 2 overall points this week, bringing him down to an 80 overall. However, the Packers special teams got a noticeable boost after JK Scott had a booming performance in week 2. This lifted JK to an 80 overall which is a 5 point upgrade.

The Broncos offense saw a favorable shift from this update as 3 players were a part of the “big movers” of week 2. Jake Butt upgraded into a 76 overall as well as young running back Phillip Lindsay gained 3 overall attribute points taking him to now a 76 overall. As well as role player Tim Patrick upgrading to now a 64 overall.

In this week’s roster update there was not a lot of shock value. Obviously, the struggling Arizona Cardinals offense will continue to be affected until they can find a way to get the ball in the end zone. On the other hand look for the Buccaneers offense to continue to climb in upcoming weeks as long as they find a way to keep winning games. At this point Patrick Mahomes is on pace to not only win MVP but take his team deep into the playoffs as well. If these performances continue, the creators at EA have no choice but to upgrade this quarterback on a weekly basis.
