Madden 19 Ultimate Team – Team Of The Year

After an exciting year of the NFL season has come to an end and the playoffs are starting to heat up, EA has come out with the Team of the Year sets. Currently there are 14 total sets that players can trade in tokens, players, trophies, and collectibles to unlock and achieve TOTY players.

There are also solo challenges attached to the TOTY sets, after beating all challenges players will earn a NAT player rated between 94-98 overall. As well as solo challenges throughout the next two weeks. The real question everyone is asking is who they can get their hands on, the entire list of Team of the Year players are listed below. 

Offense

QB: Drew Brees – 97 Overall 

Brees had an amazing year, throwing for 32 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions and leading the Saints to a 13-3 record and is still currently thriving in the playoffs. The 6’0 pocket passer has 98 throw accuracy short, 98 throw under pressure, and 95 throwing power.

HB: Todd Gurley II – 98 Overall 

Gurley made fantasy owners and Rams fans incredibly happy all year long, if he was on the field he was a dominant force on the ground. With 1,831 total yards from scrimmage and 21 total touchdowns he made Jared Goff and the Rams offense one of the most explosive in the National Football League. This card has 95 speed, 95 acceleration, 96 agility, and 97 carrying. 

WR: Tyreek Hill – 96 Overall 

Hill established himself as much more than just a speed threat this season. The Chiefs wideout had 1,479 receiving yards and 14 total touchdowns. He also managed to score one of these touchdowns on a punt return, Hill in space with the football is a problem for any defense. The 5’10 receiver has 97 speed, 97 acceleration, 94 catching, and 96 agility. 

WR: Adam Thielen – 96 Overall 

Thielen had a close to perfect season this year, the Vikings wide receiver had career highs in almost every category that included 1,373 receiving yards on 113 receptions and 9 touchdowns. This receiver will no longer be overlooked by any defenses in the NFL. This card has 96 catching, 95 awareness, 94 agility, and 94 acceleration. 

LT: David Bakhtiari – 95 Overall

The 6’4, 310 pound left tackle was a beast for the Green Bay Packers all year. He managed to stay healthy the entire year and keep Aaron Rodgers safe in the pocket. The Lineman has 97 pass blocking, 90 run blocking, 91 strength, and 97 awareness. 

LG: Quenton Nelson – 96 Overall 

The Indianapolis Colts LG is a strong candidate for rookie of the year. The 6’5, 329 pound first rounder gave up only one sack the entire 2018 campaign. Nelson has 96 strength, 93 awareness, 95 run blocking, and 93 pass blocking. 

C: Alex Mack – 95 Overall 

The Atlanta Falcons center continued his dominance on the offensive line this year. He was able to only give up 3 sacks and played all 16 games. Mack has 97 awareness, 93 strength, 95 run blocking, and 91 pass blocking. 

RG: Marshal Yanda – 96 Overall 

The Baltimore Ravens right guard earned his TOTY card by not allowing a sack the entire year. The Veteran offensive lineman has established his name in hall of fame talks. Yanda has 95 strength, 96 run blocking, 96 pass blocking, and 97 awareness. 

RT: Rob Havenstein – 95 Overall 

The massive 6’8, 328 pound right tackle had another massive season for the Rams only allowing one sack the entire year. This card has 96 awareness, 91 strength, 97 run blocking, and 93 pass blocking. 

TE: George Kittle – 95 Overall 

Kittle had a record setting year at the tight end position for the 49ers. He had 1,377 receiving yards, the most ever for a tight end in a season. The 6’4 tight end has 93 speed, 96 catching, 91 acceleration, and 95 spectacular catch. 

Defense 

MLB: Bobby Wagner – 98 Overall 

Wagner continued to be the center of the Seahawks defense with 138 total tackles, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles, and an interception for a touchdown. Wagner has 92 speed, 93 acceleration, 98 awareness, and 90 zone coverage. 

ROLB: Darius Leonard – 96 Overall 

Leonard was a immediately a huge impact for the Colts in his rookie season. He lead the league in total tackles with 163. Adding 7 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions as a bonus and helped the Colts reach the playoffs. This card has 91 acceleration, 88 speed, 96 pursuit, and 96 tackling. 

FS: Kevin Byard – 95 Overall

Byard free safety for the Tennessee Titans kept opposing quarterbacks in check, swatting down almost everything in his area and recording 4 interceptions. The 5’11 defensive back has 93 speed, 92 acceleration, and 93 awareness. 

LOLB: Leighton Vander Esch – 96 Overall 

The Dallas Cowboys left outside line backer had a close to perfect rookie year. He racked up 140 tackles while only starting 11 of the regular season games. The 6’4 linebacker has 95 acceleration, 90 speed, 95 jumping, and 95 tackling. 

SS: Jamal Adams – 95 Overall 

The Jets Strong Safety was able to get 115 total tackles, 3 forced fumbles, an interception, and 3.5 sacks. In just his second season he has proved to be one of the best safeties in the game. His TOTY card has 95 speed, 94 acceleration, 92 strength, and 92 zone coverage. 

CB: Kyle Fuller – 96 Overall 

The 6’0, 190 pound corner was a big part of the Bears top rated defense this season. Fuller had an incredible 7 interceptions and 55 total tackles this year. The defensive back has 95 speed, 96 man coverage, 93 zone coverage, and 95 pursuit. 

CB: Stephon Gilmore – 95 Overall 

The 6’0 cornerback for the New England Patriots had an incredible year with 2 interceptions and lead the NFL in pass break ups with 19. Gilmore’s TOTY card has 96 acceleration, 93 speed, 96 man coverage, and 93 zone coverage. 

RE: Myles Garrett – 97 Overall 

The 6’4 272 pound defensive end was a monster for the Browns this year, he recorded 13.5 sacks, 44 total tackles, and 3 forced fumbles in his sophomore season in the NFL. His TOTY card has 96 strength, 98 pursuit, 92 power, and 92 acceleration. 

DT: Damon Harrison Sr. – 96 Overall 

The now Detroit Lions defensive tackle earned his team of the year spot by leading all defensive lineman with 81 tackles, 52 of those were solo tackles. His TOTY card has 96 strength, 96 awareness, 95 pursuit, and 96 tackling. 

LE: Akiem Hicks – 95 Overall 

The 6’5, 336 pound left end had a huge year for the Chicago Bears. Recording 55 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. The left end has 93 strength, 96 awareness, 95 pursuit, and 94 power moves. 

Honorable Mention/Special Teams 

P: Brett Kern – 96 Overall 

The 6’2 punter for the Tennessee Titans dominated 4th down this year for his team. He averaged a 47.1 yard punt average and pinned opponents deep with 39 of his kicks inside the 20 yard line. Kern has 95 kick power and 97 kick accuracy. 

Slot WR: Juju Smith-Schuster – 95 Overall

The Steelers star wideout helped free up space all year for Antonio Brown and did some serious damage himself. Juju had 111 receptions for 1,426 yards and 7 touchdowns. His TOTY card has 93 speed, 96 acceleration, 93 agility, and 94 catching. 

K: Robbie Gould – 96 Overall 

Gould was automatic for the 49ers this year, he lead the NFL with a 97.1 FG percentage and was 11 of 12 from 40 yards or farther. Gould’s card has 96 kick power and 94 kick accuracy. 

Rush DT: Chris Jones – 95 Overall 

Jones was an underrated part of the Chiefs success this season. The defensive lineman had 14.5 sacks lining up inside the offenses tackles. Jones has 90 strength, 93 awareness, 94 pursuit, and 94 tackling. 

KR: Andre Roberts – 94 Overall 

Andre Roberts showed his speed and athleticism all year for the New York Jets with a 14.1 yard punt return average and 29.4 yard kick return average. His 2 return touchdowns were just icing on the cake of a great season. Roberts has 96 speed, 96 acceleration, 96 agility, and 90 awareness. 

3DRB: James White – 94 Overall 

James White was the center of the Patriots offense for a majority of the season. The 5’10 HB had 87 receptions for 751 yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. This just complimented his quality ground game this year. White has 91 speed, 94 acceleration, 92 agility, and 82 catching. 

Sub P LB: Joe Schobert – 94 Overall 

The Browns linebacker was a huge help to the browns pass defense this year. As he was rated one of the top linebackers on pass coverage snaps this season. The 6’1 linebacker has 90 acceleration, 85 speed, 95 pursuit, and 91 zone coverage. 

Rush DE: Chandler Jones – 94 Overall 

The right end for the Arizona Cardinals had another great year recording 13 sacks this year He also had 49 total tackles and 3 forced fumbles. The defensive lineman has 94 awareness, 92 pursuit, 91 tackling, and 96 power moves. 

FB: Kyle Juszczyk – 95 Overall 

The San Fransisco 49ers full back was one of the best blocking full backs in the league and he also caught 30 passes for 324 yards and a touchdown this year. His TOTY card has 92 acceleration, 87 speed, 90 trucking, and 86 run blocking. 

Slot CB: Desmond King – 95 Overall 

King played a pivotal role for the Los Angeles Chargers defense this year, as he recorded 62 total tackles and 3 interceptions on the year. He also added some value in the return department for the Chargers special teams unit. The defensive backs TOTY card has 92 speed, 94 acceleration, 97 agility, and 93 zone coverage.
