Madden 19 TOTW Players For Week 3 Announced

With another week of the NFL season in the books it’s time for another set of TOTW cards to be unleashed into the MUT arena. This week the content creators at EA did a good job of showcasing some highly skilled players that have consistently played well throughout the NFL season so far.

Several of these players that aren’t boss cards have high potential with great speed even though they lack in overall. Also showcased this week are some key performers from the Buffalo Bills that looked like a completely different team during their blowout victory over the Minnesota Vikings who came in to the game as 16 point favorites.

Offensive Boss (90 Overall)

Christian McCaffrey of the Carolina Panthers has put on a show all year, and in week 3 he continued to shine as he put up a career high on the ground with 184 yards. This might be one of the most valuable boss cards to this point as the RB featured 90 speed, 91 acceleration, and 94 agility making him hard to slow down and even harder to catch for MUT defenses. (51 cap)

Defensive Boss (90 Overall)

Micah Hyde is the first of three Buffalo Bills in the TOTW cards released in week 3 and for good reason. This defense stunned the Vikings and Hyde contributed 8 total tackles and kept receivers locked down all day. Where this card lacks in speed 87, and acceleration 88, it makes up for in play recognition 93, and zone coverage 92. Definitely a quality piece to add into any MUT defense helping slow down some of the high powered offenses that have been created so far. (46 cap)

85 Category:

Jared Goff of the Los Angeles Rams threw for 354 yards and 3 touchdowns as they knocked off the Chargers 35-23, still undefeated, the Rams are making a case to be a team with playoff and possible Super Bowl potential. This card has 88 throw power and 84 short throw accuracy. Not a dominant QB card but definitely enough to guide MUT teams to victory. (32 cap)

Wesley Woodyard the Tennessee Titans MLB might not be a household name but he is starting to force his way into opposing offenses game plans and schemes as they prepare for this defense. He recorded 12 total tackles and a sack in an upset win over the Jaguars 9-6. 89 play recognition and 87 block shedding could put Woodyard on some rosters that need help in the middle of the field. (37 cap)

84 Category:

Carlos Hyde the RB of the Cleveland Browns had a major role in helping them gain a comeback win over the Jets. He had 103 yards and two touchdowns. A solid card with 86 speed, 89 acceleration, and 89 agility. (31 cap)

Xavien Howard the Miami Dolphins cornerback had 2 interceptions and was a vital part of the Dolphins effort to take down the Oakland Raiders this week 28-20. A solid piece to add to any MUT squad with 89 speed, 89 acceleration, and 86 agility. (31 cap)

81 Category:

Calvin Ridley of the Atlanta Falcons showed his big play potential with a 75 yard touchdown reception in a shootout loss against the New Orleans Saints. This card is only 81 overall but has the potential to be a low cap diamond in the rough for some players. Most stats are in the 70-80 range for Ridley however, the 90 speed makes him a big play threat. (30 cap)

Eddie Jackson, free safety of the Chicago Bears had 3 Toal tackles and an interception against a struggling Cardinals offense. The 6’0 defensive back has 86 speed, 88 acceleration, and 82 hit power. (29 cap)

80 Category:

Kerryon Johnson had an impressive week racking up 101 rushing yards and getting over 6 yards per carry. He helped the Detroit Lions stun the Patriots and give confidence to their offense moving forward. 86 speed, 86 acceleration, and 80 agility. (24 cap)

Matt Milano another Buffalo Bill who made an impact this weekend had 8 total tackles, an interception, a sack, and a fumble recovery against the Vikings. The ROLB has 84 acceleration, 74 tackle, and 80 speed. (25 cap)

78 Category:

Jakeem Grant the Miami Dolphins wide receiver was a fantasy owners dream as he had two receptions both for touchdowns against the Raiders. An interesting card with mostly lackluster stats, however this card posts an intriguing 92 speed and 84 jumping. (30 cap)

Donte Jackson the Carolina Panthers cornerback caught two of Andy Dalton’s passes this weekend and helped the Panthers defense defeat the Bengals 31-21. An extremely quality card for the overall and cap. 92 speed, 88 acceleration, and 92 agility. (33 cap)

77 Category:

Dallas Goedert helped the Eagles defeat the Colts 20-16 recording his first career touchdown reception. The 6’4 tight end also had 73 yards and 7 receptions. He will need to continue to produce to be a usable player in MUT with just 79 speed and 71 strength. (26 cap)

Cory Littleton the Los Angeles Rams MLB led the team with 10 total tackles and provided a spark for the special teams unit in the form of a blocked punt that ended in a Rams touchdown. The two quality stats that jump out for him is the 83 acceleration and 72 zone coverage. (21 cap)

This week’s set of players should once again make a difference and immediately impact games for MUT players. EA did a good job recognizing some of the struggling teams fan bases by including some fresh players and teams in this weeks TOTW sets. Make sure to acquire all of these cards to unlock the bosses and take your team to the next level.
