In today’s Madden School tip, Mazin is going over a way to beat cover 3 defenses deep in Madden 18.

Playbook: Indianapolis Colts (and many others)
Formation: Gun Bunch
Play: Deep Corner
Setup:
- Put the wide receiver on the single side on a curl route
- Block your tight end
- Streak route your A/X receiver
Reads:
- This play is a deep shot, so we are really only looking to the receiver on the post route deep against a cover 3 defense.
Overview: Â This was one of my favorite deep bombs last year, and it still works in Madden NFL 18 if you set it up just a little differently.
Last time a comeback was used to drag that deep third down, and this year, I like to use a curl route instead. It will bring the corner down and the streak by the slot WR will hold the safety in the middle of the field, clearing out the way for the deep post across the field.

That deep blue is still dropping back when I run this. He doesn’t hold with the curl for whatever reason
This play does not work the corner drifts back every play for cover 3…maybe a patch fixed this
