Madden 15 Passing Tips: Gun Pats Wing Trips – Pats Slot Out

In today’s free Madden 15 strategy, we are going over a really effective passing play found in the New England Patriots playbook.  This play works well against both man and zone defenses.

This video was made much earlier in the year but is worth revisiting because of how effective it can be.  If you are looking for a consistent money play that doesn’t feel like cheese, this is for you.

Note: This is the type of very basic play that can be effective in future games like Madden 16 as well.

We have the full analysis and written breakdown below.

Madden 15 Offense Tips: Gun Pats Wing Trips - Pats Slot Out

Playbook: New England Patriots

Formation: Gun Pats Wing Trips

Play: Pats Slot Out

Setup:

  1. Put your tight end on a slant
  2. Block your running back

Reads:

  1. Your primary read is always your B/circle receiver on the post route
  2. Against man defense, your tight end should be wide open as well

Overview: This is a great play to call on 3rd and 10 or a little longer.  It should get you around 15 yards if done correctly.

In custom playbooks, the play can be found in the Shotgun U Trips Wk formation and the play is called Slot Out.

You do a great job breaking things down and I very often use not only your specific plays, but their concepts to kickstart parts of my offense I hadn’t considered before. I wanted to suggest one mini scheme addition to this play I’ve been using to really wreck guys online, same setup for the TE except use the HB screen out of the formation. In man the TE still gets ridiculously open vs CPU defenders but more importantly he acts as an amazing decoy to User players in the middle, which allows the running back to run free.
