Play: Cover 3 Drop
Setup:
- Base Align
- Pinch and crash your defensive line down
- Put your LE (on the right side of the screen) in a qb spy
- Blitz your cornerback who is in the light blue zone and move him up a little
- Let the cornerback take a step or 2 toward the qb and then manually user control him
Overview: This is effectively a 2 man nano blitz that is extremely deadly in Madden 16. If your opponent blocks extra guys, then you have 9 guys in coverage. If he doesn’t, then you will get a great nano blitz.

Play: Cover 1 Thief
Setup:
- Pinch and crash your defensive line down
- Move your blitzing cornerback out towards the sideline
Overview: You should either see pressure off the right edge or from a defensive end up the middle. You are only rushing 4 guys on this play so you still have really good coverage.

Setup:
- Pinch and crash your defensive line down
- QB Contain
Overview: You should see 2 guys come in unblocked if your opponent isn’t blocking extra guys. If he is blocking an extra guy, you should see one guy come through untouched. User the defender who is covering in the running back so you can patrol the middle of the field in case the running back blocks.

- (Optional) Press cover
- (Optional) Put one of your defensive ends in a QB Spy
Overview: This is a great max coverage defense if you are trying to protect a lead. It works best if your opponent is expecting a blitz from this formation.
