Setup:

  1. Put the running back on a wheel route towards the two-receiver side
  2. Put the X/A tight end on a corner route

Reads:

  1. The first read is the running back on the wheel route
  2. The next read is the circle/B receiver on the deep out route
  3. The third read is the X/A tight end on his corner route
  4. The final read is the square/X receiver on the deep post route

Overview: This play destroys every coverage in the game and is a one play touchdown against cover 3 and cover 2. Make sure to have TE or Route Apprentice on your tight end for this play to be most effective.

Play: PA Switch Curl

Setup:

  1. Put the R1/RB full back on a wheel route towards the tight end
  2. Put the X/A tight end on a corner route

Reads:

  1. Your first read is the square/X receiver on the deep curl route
  2. The next read is the full back on his wheel route
  3. The third read is running back on his check and release curl route
  4. The fourth read is the circle/B receiver on the wheel route
  5. The final read is the X/A tight end on the corner route

Overview: This play easily beats every type of zone coverage and is a big play down the sideline against cover 2. Make sure you have TE or Route Apprentice on the tight end for this play.

Play: Dagger

Setup:

  1. Put the R1/RB full back on a wheel towards the tight end

Reads:

  1. The first read is the X/A tight end on his drag
  2. The next read is the triangle/Y running back on his check and release curl route
  3. The third read is the square/X receiver on the deep in route

Overview: This play is a three-man read over the middle of the field that beats every type of coverage. You can quick snap this play to keep your opponent from making any adjustments.

Play: Stretch Alert Bubble

Setup: None

Overview: This RPO Stretch keeps your opponent on their toes as it can attacks both sides of the field. It is important to know when you can throw the bubble and when you cannot, as the pass can easily be intercepted if the correct read is not made. Watch out for Inside Stuff on your opponent’s defensive line, as this ability with blow up this run.

Play: 95 Mike

Setup: None

Overview: 95 Mike is great inside run if your opponent is worried about the Stretch Alert Bubble. You can flip this run to both sides and it will still be effective.

How do you choose what side you run a wheel route to?

The RB will automatically go to the wide side of the field on any hot routed wheel route. However, you can motion him to the short side of the field and then motion him back and he will then wheel to that short side when you wheel hot route him.
