The playmaker mechanic can only be used after you hike the ball on offense. It allows you to tell a receiver to run to a different area of the field.
Let’s walk through how to do it step by step.
Step 1: Snap the ball
Step 2: While holding the ball with your QB, you can playmaker a receiver, tight end, or running back by pointing the right stick in the direction you want the receiver closest to you to run.
You can only playmaker the player that is closest to the quarterback, so you will often end up playmakering a drag route or some other short route.
You’ll want to playmaker the receiver to an open part of the field since after you will only have time to playmaker 1 receiver.
