Formation: Gun Trips TE

Play: PA Shot Wheel

Setup:

  1. Put the A/X tight end on a streak
  2. Put the B/O receiver on a drag route
  3. Block the running back

Reads:

  1. The first read on this play is the B/O receiver to the right side of the field
  2. Then look for the Y/Triangle receiver deep to the right side of the field
  3. Finally, find the X/Square receiver deep over the middle of the field

Overview: The route combinations on this play flood the right side of the field. This play can beat any type of zone coverage when making the correct read.

Playbook: New England Patriots

Formation: Gun Trips TE

Play: Inside Zone

Setup:

  1. None required

Reads:

  1. Follow the blockers

Overview: This is one of the most effective run plays in Madden 19. Mixing this play in with the pass plays in this formation make this offense difficult to stop. Also, mixing in this run with the 45 quick base makes it hard for the opponent to stop the run in this formation.

Playbook: New England Patriots

Formation: Gun Trips TE

Play: 45 Quick Base

Setup:

  1. None required

Reads:

  1. Follow the blocks

Overview: This run play is unique from the Inside Zone run play in this formation. The quick base has a pulling guard making the assignments of the offensive line different. This means the opponent cannot easily shoot the gaps of both run plays with their user.

Playbook: New England Patriots

Formation: Gun Trips TE

Play: PA Slot Corner

Setup:

  1. Put the A/X on a fade route
  2. Put the X/Square receiver on a streak
  3. Put the running back on an out route to the right side of the field
  4. Motion the B/O receiver to the right side of the field

Reads:

  1. The first read is the B/O receiver going to the left side of the field
  2. If that is not there look for the Y/Triangle receiver going to the right side of the field
  3. Check down to the running back out of the back field

Overview: This is a very effective play that can beat multiple types of zone and man defenses. The B/O receiver and Y/Triangle receivers’ routes are two that no zones will guard. Making is very difficult for the opponent to be able to cover them both when mixing this play with the rest of the formation.
