Gun Bunch Open Offset

Playbook: Baltimore Ravens

Formation: Gun Bunch Open Offset

Play: Flood (Version 1)

Setup:

  1. None required

Reads:

  1. Against cover 2 defenses, your B/circle receiver will be wide open. Lead pass to the sideline.
  2. You can also look to the flats or the X/square receiver over the middle if your opponent takes his user defender to the sideline

Overview: This play absolutely torches any kind of cover 2 defense for a huge gain or a touchdown.

Formation: Gun Bunch Open Offset

Play: Flood (Version 2)

Setup:

  1. Hot route the A/X receiver to an in route and motion him to the left (it becomes an out route)
  2. Hot route the X/square receiver to a streak route

Reads:

  1. The main read on this play is the X/square receiver deep against cover 3 defenses.
  2. If you read a cover 2 defense early on, you can hit the B/circle receiver (lead pass to the sideline)
  3. Your tight end in the flat is your check down option (lead pass up)

Overview: This play only works if you run it to the wide side of the field. If you run it from the middle of the field or to the short side of the field, it will not work.

Play: Flood (Version 3)

Setup:

  2. Hot route the A/X receiver to a slant route and motion him a few steps to the left. Snap it before he gets to the right tackle (see video for timing)

Reads:

  2. If you read a cover 2 defense early on, you can hit the B/circle receiver (lead pass to the sideline)
  3. If your opponent is in man to man defense, look to the A/X receiver on the slant route or the X/square receiver on the deep in route

Overview: Make sure to get the pass out quick because you have no extra blockers on this play.

Setup:

  1. Check the defense and decide whether you want to run or pass. Then audible to the play you want.

Reads:

  1. If there are 3 defenders lined up over your receivers on the right, audible to Inside Zone.
  2. If there are 2 or fewer defenders lined up over your receivers on the right, audible to RPO Read Bubble
