Four of the Top Sleeper Teams in Madden 19

Every year there are a select few teams that get used consistently online in Madden.  These are usually teams that are rated high, or have play-makers that are impossible to stop.  But what about those teams that have talent, but are often overlooked?

Here are four of the best sleeper teams in Madden 19.

Baltimore Ravens (79 OVR)

Baltimore is one of the most consistent teams in the NFL, and the same remains true in Madden.

Quarterback Joe Flacco has a Super Bowl ring, but he remains the epitome of an average NFL QB.  Enter, Lamar Jackson.  Jackson might be the most highly anticipated rookie in recent memory.  Remember 2004 Michael Vick?  That’s Lamar Jackson.

Running backs Alex Collins, Javorious Allen, and Kenneth Dixon make up a solid HB stable, that can do it all.  Dixon can truck through defenders, where Colins and Allen can beat you with their speed and elusive moves.

The Raven’s receiving core consists mostly of outcasts.  Michael Crabtree and John Brown are at the top of the depth chart, whereas Tight End Hayden Hurst will be a legit target in the red zone.  Nick Boyle and Maxx Williams also have a chance to make plays if given the opportunity.

Baltimore might not be as good as it once was, but the defense still remains one of the best in the NFL today.. Veteran Terrell Suggs, alongside  Brent Urban, Michael Pierce and Brandon Williams make things difficult for running backs.

The secondary is a bit more talented, including Brandon Carr and Marlon Humphrey at cornerback. Eric Weddle and Tony Jefferson are two of the best safeties in the NFL.  Overall, the Ravens are a force to be reckoned with.

Houston Texans (78 OVR)

This might seem like an obvious choice, but Houston is one of the best all-around teams in Madden 19.

Houston’s pass rush is godly with Jadaveon Clowney and J.J Watt.  And with Johnathan Joseph, Kareem Jackson and Tyrann Mathieu in the secondary, the Texans can shut-down nearly any offense it matches up against.

Offensively, Deshaun Watson is a quarterback that can abolish defenses with his arm, and even more so his legs.  Watson has one of the best deep balls in the business, and his ability to get out of the pocket will wreak havoc on opposing defenses.

At running back, Lamar Miller and D’Onta Foreman are both above-average, and can make plays on the ground as well as through the air.

The wide receiver tandem of Deandre Hopkins and Will Fuller, is one of the best in the NFL.  Hopkins is one of the top WRs in the game and Fuller is a legit deep threat.  The duo is sure to cause nightmares for your opposition.

San Francisco 49ers (78 OVR)

The 49ers were much improved in 2017, due in large part to the addition of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.  “Jimmy G” is a surgeon with the ball in his hands, and has the arsenal around him to put up monster numbers.

At wide receiver, Marquis Godwin, Pierre Garcon, Trent Taylor and George Kittle will cause fits on the outside, leaving owners with plenty of options in the passing game.

Jerrick McKinnon is going to be a stud in Madden with his lightning-fast speed and ability to catch the football out of the backfield.  He also should see plenty of holes running behind one of the best offensive lines in football.

Defensively, San Francisco is no slouch.  The defensive line consists of two high-draft picks in Deforest Buckner and Solomon Thomas, who should have no problem vs the run or getting pressure on the quarterback.  In the middle of the defense is former first-round pick Reuben Foster, alongside Eli Harold and Malcolm Smith.

Cornerbacks Richard Sherman, Ahkello Witherspoon and Safety Adrian Colbert sure things up in the secondary.

Cleveland Browns (74 OVR)

The Browns have been the laughing stock of the NFL for several decades.  However, 2018 could be the beginning of a new era, as Cleveland starts to take shape of a legitimate NFL franchise.

With the 1st-overall pick in the 2018 draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Baker Mayfield.  Mayfield is a rare talent, who has the ability to turn any play into something magical.  He has the potential to be a fan favorite in this year’s game, and should singlehandedly give users a reason to select the Browns.

The weapons around Mayfield aren’t bad either.  At running back, a three-headed monster consisting of Carlos Hyde, Nick Chubb, and Duke Johnson should cause fits to opposing defenses.  Duke Johnson is a nice chess piece to use in the passing game as well.

Cleveland’s receivers are some of the best in the league, featuring two of the NFL’s best receivers in Josh Gordon and Jarvis Landry.  Wide receiver Corey Coleman and Tight End David Njoku can make plays too, rounding out one of the better units in the entire NFL.

Defensively, the Browns have one of the best pass rushing duos in the NFL with Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah.  At linebacker, Jaime Collins, Joe Schobert, and Christian Kirksey make up a very respectable unit.

First-round pick Denzel Ward and E.J Gaines are the Browns’ starting cornerbacks.  And Jabrill Peppers and Damarious Randall round out the Browns’ secondary.

Good article. No way that I would touch the Texans with that horrible offensive line and DW’s lower throw under pressure.

I’d rather use Tyrod Taylor as my Browns QB.
