Defensive Lockdown Update #1

Playbook: Jacksonville Jaguars

Formation: Nickel Normal

Play: Buck Slant Show 2

Setup:

1. Base Align
2. Press Coverage
3. Crash your defensive line down
4. Put your defensive end on the right into a light blue zone
5. Put your defensive tackle on the right into a yellow zone
6. Put your LB on the left into a zone

Overview: This play does take a while to set up but once you get the hang of it, you can get untouched edge pressure while only rushing 3 guys.

Formation: Dime Normal

Play: Fox Fire Zone Press

Setup:

1. Base Align
2. Press Coverage
3. Crash your defensive line down
4. Put your defensive end on the left into a light blue zone
5. Put your defensive tackle on the left into a yellow zone
6. Put your linebacker into a yellow zone

Overview: This blitz brings heat from the right side while only rushing 3 guys.  It isn’t good against the run, but it provides quick pressure and good coverage against the pass.

Formation: Dollar 3-2-6

Play: DB Fire 2 Press

Setup:

1. Base Align
2. Press Coverage
3. Crash your defensive line down
4. Bluff blitz both linebackers

Overview: This is a 5 man rush that brings dual edge heat.  So even if your opponent blocks an extra guy, someone should usually come in free.

Formation: Dollar 3-2-6

Play: DB Fire 2 Press (Version 2)

Setup:

1. Base Align
2. Press Coverage
3. Crash your defensive line down
4. Bluff blitz either linebacker

Overview: This makes the play a little less consistent but it also gives you slightly better coverage.
