46 Normal

Playbook: Jacksonville Jaguars

Formation: 46 Normal

Play: Cover 2 Invert

Setup:

  1. Base Align
  2. Move your free safety down closer to the line of scrimmage
  3. (Optional) Spread or shift your defensive line to whichever side has more blockers
  4. (Optional) Spread your linebackers

Overview: This is our base run defense that we come out in to slow down our opponent’s running game.  Even if you get hit with a play action pass, you still have amazing coverage.

Playbook: Jacksonville Jaguars

Formation: 46 Normal

Play: Cover 3 Match

Setup:

  1. Base Align
  2. Shift your linebackers to the left
  3. Blitz your LOLB and ROLB
  4. Shift your defensive line to the right
  5. (Optional) Put your DE on the right into a QB spy

Overview: This play brings really nice heat as long as your opponent isn’t blocking extra guys.

Playbook: Jacksonville Jaguars

Formation: 46 Normal

Play: Inside Blitz

Setup:

  1. Spread your defensive line and crash them out
  2. Put one of your defensive ends in a qb spy
  3. Move your blitzing linebacker on the right 2 steps to the left and 1 step back. See the video for exact positioning.

Overview: As long as your opponent isn’t blocking extra guys, you should get A-gap pressure right up the middle.

Playbook: Jacksonville Jaguars

Formation: 46 Normal

Play: Cover 3

Setup:

  1. Base Align
  2. Spread your defensive line
  3. Blitz your MLB and your OLB on the right
  4. Put your defensive end on the left in a QB Spy
  5. (Optional) Adjust the zones behind it however you’d like

Overview: The faster your MLB is, the better this play will be for you.  This blitz may still get in even if your opponent is blocking a running back as long as the running back is blocking on the right side of the field.

Hello. How do you put a defensive player specifically into a qb spy? How do you put your defensive player like your ROLB and LOLB into a blitz?

How do you recommend mixing up the use of these defensive plays? Im quite new to Madden and im unsure on how many defensive plays are necessary considering how much effort is put into pre snap adjustments.

Are they going to fix the pause when you move onto a defensive lineman or is it to try and prevent nano blitzes and unstoppable schemes?
