Unique Madden 23 Money Play That Beats Man and Zone Defenses

In today’s Madden 23 tip, we are going over a unique money play found only in the Chicago Bears offensive playbook.

It utilizes auto-motion to get the defense out of position which can lead to some pretty big gains.

Let’s dive in!

Madden 23 Money Play: Gun Doubles Offset Wk - PA Orbit X Spot

Playbook: Chicago Bears

Formation: Gun Doubles Offset Wk

Play: PA Orbit X Spot

Setup:

  1. Hot route your X/square receiver to a streak route
  2. Hot route your running back to an in/out route to the right

Reads:

  1. Your primary read is a quick pass to the B/circle receiver on the swing route
  2. If he is covered, look to the slot receiver on the corner route
  3. Then look to the tight end or the running back

Overview: This play does an excellent job of beating man coverage, especially cover 0 or cover 1 defenses. It also works great against zone coverage with a read between the swing pass and the corner route on the left.

Make sure you have your fastest wide receiver in the B/circle spot for best results.

To make this play ever better against man coverage, put the Backfield Master or Backfield Mismatch ability on your running back.

Let’s take a closer look at how this play works.

This is how the final play art should look. Take a look at the cornerback who is matched up in man to man coverage over our B/circle receiver.

As our receiver finishes his auto-motion we can see that the cornerback matched up on him doesn’t properly follow him across the field.

We catch the quick pass with no defender within 15 yards of our receiver. Make sure to quick pass this throw so you can RAC catch it and quickly turn it up field.

We end up getting 17 yards before we are finally pushed out of bounds.
