Play: HB Stretch

Setup:

  1. None

Reads:

  1. Follow the blockers

Overview: The Stretch is one of the best run plays in Madden 20. You can run it to either side of the formation so whichever side the defense looks weaker on that is where it should normally be ran too.

Playbook: New Orleans

Formation: Singleback Wing Stack

Play: TE Spot

Setup:

  1. Put the RB/R1 on a flat route
  2. Put the B/O receiver on a drag route

Reads:

  1. The main read is the A/X tight end on the corner route
  2. Next look for the RB/R1 tight end on the flat route
  3. Then look for the B/O receiver on the drag route
  4. Finally, find the X/Square receiver deep over the middle of the field

Overview: This play the RB/R1 tight ends flat route will pull down most zones leaving the A/X tight end on the corner route. The corner route will also destroy man coverage as well.

Setup:

  1. None

Reads:

  1. Follow the blockers

Overview: The HB Dive mixed with the HB Stretch is the deadliest running combo in Madden 20. Most defenses that work well against the stretch do not work well against the dive and vice versa.

Playbook: New Orleans

Formation: Singleback Wing Stack

Play: Spot Stick

Setup:

  1. Put B/O receiver on a streak
  2. Put the A/X tight end on a drag
  3. Block the running back

Reads:

  1. The first read is the A/X tight end on the drag route
  2. Then look deep to the X/Square receiver on the corner route

Overview: This play is fantastic against Cover 2 style defenses; the corner route ends up being basically an auto touchdown. Then you have the A/X tight end underneath as a check down as well. A lot of people also resort to Cover 2 to stop Stretches as well.

Playbook: New Orleans

Formation: Singleback Wing Stack

Play: PA Fork

Setup:

  1. Block the running back
  2. Motion snap the X/Square receiver to the left

Reads:

  1. The main read on the play is the X/Square receiver deep
  2. If that is not there look for the B/O receiver to the left side of the field

Overview: This play bombs Cover 4 defenses easily for a one play touchdown. Also this play will bomb Cover 2 defenses as well because the safety gets glitched out by the B/O receiver.

Play: PA Double in Shot

Setup:

  1. Put the A/X tight end on a streak
  2. Put the B/O receiver on a drag route
  3. Block the running back
  4. Block the RB/R1 tight end

Reads:

  1. The main read is the X/Square receiver on the deep crosser
  2. Then look underneath to the B/O receiver on the drag route

Overview: This play will destroy any type of zone coverage that your opponent throws at you. The X/Square receiver will get over top any of the zones and stay underneath the safeties. Then you have drags underneath as check downs.
