Since 2017 Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis have done the play-by-play and commentary in the Madden NFL video game.
Going forward, we’ll start to hear some different voices in Madden according to Charles Davis who made an appearance on the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show.
Here’s the direct quote:
“They are going to expand, I don’t know if you’ve seen it or heard it yet, there are going to be multiple announce teams going forward. That will give you the opportunity to change up who you are listening to.”
Davis explained that him and Gaudin first took over the announcing in Madden from Jim Nantz and Phil Simms because EA needed guys who relatively free to record new lines each week.
Gaudin now has a full time roll as the Atlanta Braves’ play-by-play guy and Charles Davis is significantly busier than he was years ago.
Add that with a couple other harsh realities like the ones listed below and it becomes pretty apparent why EA is finally make this change.
- Gamers have grown tired of the same commentators voices for the past 8 years
- One of the top suggestions on every yearly Madden wishlist is the ability to have different commentators
The strong implication is that gamers will have multiple teams to choose from going forward.
You can hear Charles Davis go over this change in more detail at around the 7:51 mark in the video below.
The big question now becomes which other commentators should EA get for Madden 25?
Fan favorites include:
- Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth
- Jim Nantz and Tony Romo
- Joe Buck and Troy Aikman
