Playbook: Tennessee Titans

Formation: Singleback Tight Y Off

Play: PA Post Dig

Setup:

  1. Motion Your B/circle receiver to the left and smart route the corner route.
  2. Hot route your X/square receiver to a fade route
  3. Hot route your Y/triangle receiver to an out route.

Reads:

  1. Your primary read on this play is your B/circle receiver on the sideline.
  2. If the defense plays over the top, throw it to your Y/triangle receiver underneath.

Overview: This is your play action deep shot in this scheme. Your B/triangle receiver will be able to get open on the sideline against zone coverage, and with a good receiver will get open against man to man.

Setup:

  1. (Optional) Motion your B/circle receiver like your did in PA Post Dig.

Reads:

  1. Follow your blocks

Overview: This is your bread and butter play. Being able to run the ball effectively will make every play in this scheme work better.

Formation: Singleback Tight Y Off

Play: PA Deep Cross

Setup:

  1. Hot Route Your Y/triangle receiver to an out route.
  2. Hot route your A/x tight end an option route.

Reads:

  1. Your primary read on this play is your B/circle receiver across the middle.
  2. If your opponent is running man to man coverage with no safety help, a fast X/square receiver can torch defenses with the post route.
  3. If the defense plays over the top, throw it to your Y/triangle receiver underneath.
  4. If your opponent follows the B/circle receiver across the middle, throw it to your A/X tight end in the middle of the field.

Overview: This is another great play action play that will get tons of yards. This should be the passing play you call the most during a game. This is a play that you can quick snap because of the simplicity in the hot routes and if your B/circle receiver is good after the catch, you can score a lot of touchdowns.

Play: Jet Sweep

Setup:

  1. No setup required

Reads: Follow your blocks.

Overview: A Jet Sweep is a great play to mix in when you run a lot of HB dive. When your opponent pinches their defensive line, you can sneak this play in and get a lot of yards on the perimeter.

Play: PA Jet Sweep

Setup:

  1. No setup required

Reads:

  1. Your first read on this play is your A/X tight end in the middle of the field.
  2. Your second read on this play is the X/square receiver as he runs towards the right sideline.

Overview: Because you are going to be running a Jet Sweep, having a play action Jet Sweep will be a dynamic play to mix in. The goal is to make the user linebacker follow the receiver on the play action, and leave the middle of the field open for the A/X tight end. If the user doesn’t bite and covers the tight end, your square receiver should be open on the opposite side of the field.

Play: PA Boot Slide

Setup 1:

  1. (Optional) Hor route your A/x tight end to a delay fade route
  2. Slide your offensive line to the right. Double team the edge rusher on the farthest to the right.

Reads:

  1. Your first read on this play is the X/square receiver as he runs towards the right sideline.
  2. Your second read on this play is the B/cirlce receiver on the deep corner route.
  3. Your third read is your Y/triangle receiver in the right flat.
  4. If everything is covered, your A/X tight end will be open on the delay fade in the middle of the field.

Setup 2:

  1. Smart route your B/circle receiver’s corner route.
  2. Hot route your X/square receiver to a streak.
  3. Hot route your Y/triangle receiver to a drag route.
  4. (Optional) Hot route your A/x tight end to a delay fade

Reads:

  1. Your first read on this play is the B/circle receiver going across the field.
  2. If the defense is playing over the top, throw it to your Y/triangle receiver underneath.

Overview: This is a great play to mix in with your running game. If you catch your opponent pinching their defensive line, you can use this play to get your quarterback on the move. It is also has 2 different setups that make it a great passing play against all coverages.
